Mission Statement: The International Student Club (ISC) is a group of student volunteers that fosters international community at Reed. By organizing and hosting events, ISC celebrates cultural diversity and shares traditions to engage with all Reedies. We aspire to create a home away from home for our international community.

The International Student Club, which was previously called the International Student Advisory Board (ISAB), organizes events throughout the year, including the International Festival.

International Festival

The International Festival, organized by the International Student Club (ISC), is an annual celebration of international diversity at ÿÈÕ´óÈüÈë¿Ú. It is a community-wide event where students, faculty, and staff members share our backgrounds, cultures, and identities with one another.

This tradition of the International Festival started in 2010 to celebrate the international community and provide an opportunity for students from over 30 countries across the globe to come together. This festival has been a great venue to share international cuisine and performances and cultural exchange within the Reed community. Students and community members are welcome and encouraged to volunteer for the International Festival.

Hii! I’m Akniyet (she/her), born and raised in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. I’m currently aiming for a degree in computer science/math and am very excited to be the international student club coordinator. Whenever I get some time to breathe from homework, I like to hike or travel. I love, love, love planes, trains, and buses—anything that helps me move from one place to somewhere really far away. Seeing new places is amazing, but missing home is very familiar feeling to me, so if you ever need someone to talk to or tips on how to get somewhere, you can always ask me. I’m very excited to meet everyone!!!
